During the Introduction the Threat is barely present and you dismiss it as irrelevant.
The Conflict is where the Threat pounces and separates you from that which you desire the most. If the Threat fails at this separation the story cannot proceed, so it’s a big responsibility.
You have little interaction with the Threat during the Suspense stage, as it focuses more on your actions. However, it should remain as a constant threat in the background and keep pressure on the Symbol.
During the Climax you will confront and overcome the representation of the threat with the allies you have gathered.
The Threat rarely plays a part in the Resolution stage. Unless of course, they manage to defeat you during the climax. Then they may have a lot of influence on the decision you make.
Once the Conclusion comes around the threat is more of lingering influence than an active part of the story.
